On May 26, 2025, Lansdowne Park in Ottawa hosted a vibrant celebration of Canadian culture and heritage. The event featured traditional music, Indigenous performances, and local artisans. A highlight of the day was the attendance of King Charles III and Queen Camilla, marking a special moment during their official visit to Canada.

After being introduced to a group of volunteers from the Maple Hope Foundation, which runs a project for women in Ukraine who have lost their children or loved ones due to the war, the Queen said to one of the volunteers, Maryna Popovych: “What you are doing is very important.” Popovych replied: “Thank you and the entire royal family for your support of Ukraine — it means so much.”
